㏫৸ⱶᮆΐ᧫␚⌺ ℅᪤⏝ Iceberg lettuce of Mailiao is in the
season from November to April. The
᮷᪦ᅌ ᄽ ㏫৸πঝႁࠠ temperature in Mailiao changes dras-
tically in winter. The sandy soil in the
ᙗଭࠥ ӘΪᄾ໩ᒢʹ⋭ᮆᓫ⧯ region with good drainage produces
iceberg lettuce that grows quickly and
۴ࠅ ఼ࠦ᥿Ӊᮆᩛ߇ ⯔ਛ℅ tastes crisp and sweet. 90% of Taiwan’s
iceberg lettuce comes from Mailiao
᪤⏝ΐ᧫౳ Ӥ൅⇾ ᪢஠㇮ᮆ Township, and it is exported to Japan
and Korea, making it a green gold leg-
ᣡ㐋 ΡӰƱ෥ᮆ℅᪤⏝ɞ⊑ၧ end of Taiwan. Taiwan Lettuce Village
Food Culture Festival is held during the
⿅ᆡ㏫৸ⱶ ᪡⊖Ⱉࠜ⶯ႁざẇ Lunar New Year holiday every year,
inviting all visitors to taste the organic
‫ ۿ‬෥៌Ӱវᮆ ⴐ̞࠵ ᑚ஁ and healthy iceberg lettuce produced in
town.
